Haemme rohkeita avauksia – Apurahahaku on nyt käynnissä

Koneen Säätiön vuosittainen apurahahaku on käynnissä! Hakuaika kestää kaksi viikkoa perjantaihin 15. syyskuuta 2017 klo 16 Suomen aikaa asti. Myönnämme apurahoja tieteeseen ja taiteeseen sekä taidetta ja tiedettä yhdistäviin hankkeisiin. Tänä vuonna järjestämme kaksi teemahakua: Naapuridialogit ja Ekologiset kompensaatiot yhteiskunnassa ja kulttuurissa. Ensi viikon hakuinfoja voi seurata suorana Koneen Säätiön Facebook-sivulla.

Koneen Säätiön tavoitteena on luoda edellytyksiä rohkeille tieteen ja taiteen avauksille. Painotamme uutta luovia, uudenlaisia yhdistelmiä sisältäviä ja marginaalisiakin hankkeita. Monialaisuus ja alojen välisten rajojen ylittäminen ovat meille tärkeitä.

Apurahaa voi hakea:

• tieteelliseen ja/tai taiteelliseen työskentelyyn
• tieteellisen ja/tai taiteellisen työn edistämiseen (esimerkiksi alaa kehittävä hanke)
• tieteelliseen tutkimukseen ja/tai taiteellisen työhön pohjautuvaan työhön (esimerkiksi tieteen ja taiteen saattamiseen erilaisille yleisöille)
• apurahoja voidaan myöntää myös muuhun kulttuurityöhön

Tuettava tutkimus voi olla humanistista, taiteellista, yhteiskuntatieteellistä tai ympäristöntutkimusta tai monialaista tutkimusta. Kannustamme myös monialaisiin tiedettä ja taidetta yhdistäviin hankkeisiin.

Tänä vuonna apurahahaussa on mukana kaksi teemahakua. Naapuridialogit-teemahaussa kysymme, miten naapurit kommunikoivat ja pyrkivät dialogiin esimerkiksi kielellisistä, kulttuurisista, taloudellisista tai uskonnollisista eroista huolimatta. Ekologiset kompensaatiot yhteiskunnassa ja kulttuurissa -teemahaun tavoitteena on pureutua ekologisiin kompensaatioihin useamman tieteenalan ja taiteen yhteistyöllä.

Hae apurahaa verkossa

Apurahaa haetaan Koneen Säätiön hakemusten verkkopalvelussa.

Hakemus on lähetettävä 15.9.2017 klo 16 (Suomen aikaa) mennessä. Huomaathan, että hakemusten määräaika on aikaisemmasta poiketen jo syyskuun puolivälissä.

Vuonna 1956 perustettu Koneen Säätiö on itsenäinen ja riippumaton organisaatio, joka parantaa maailmaa luomalla edellytyksiä rohkeille tieteen ja taiteen avauksille. We are calling for bold initiatives – Our annual funding call is open until 15th September

The new round of applications for Kone Foundation grants is here! We invite applications from Friday 1 September to Friday 15 September at 16.00 Finnish time (GMT +3). Grants are awarded for academic research, art projects, and for projects combining scholarly and artistic work. This year, we will additionally organise two thematic funding calls, Neighbour dialogues and Ecological compensations in society and culture.

Our goal is to advance bold initiatives in research and the arts. Kone Foundation is interested in countercurrents and in what takes place in the margins. We also seek to support interdisciplinary approaches and encounters across and between research and the arts.

Grants are awarded for:

• academic research and/or artistic work;
• promotion of academic or artistic work (for example, a project contributing to the development of a field of art or science);
• dissemination of academic or artistic work (such as making research or art available to different audiences);
• other cultural initiatives.

Research grants are awarded for studies in the humanities, social sciences, environmental research, and artistic research. Such projects can be multi- or interdisciplinary, and they can combine artistic and scholarly approaches.

Two thematic funding calls will also be open during the application period. The fundamental question addressed by the funding call Neighbour dialogues is "how do neighbours communicate and pursue dialogue despite linguistic, cultural, economic, or religious differences?" The other funding call, Ecological compensations in society and culture, will focus on ecological compensations combining methods from different disciplines and fields of art. 

Applications are to be submitted online. The deadline for the applications is September 15, at 4 pm Finnish time (GMT +3). Please note that the application period is shorter than previously.

It is an independent and unaffiliated organisation that awards grants to promote academic research, culture, art and  the popularisation of research. It also maintains the Saari Residence for artists and researchers and organises various events.
