We are looking for bold initiatives in research, its popularisation, and arts and culture
The application period for Kone Foundation grants has started on 1 September and will end on 30 September at 16.00 Finnish time (Eastern European Summer Time, GMT + 3).
Kone Foundation grants are available both for research and for arts and culture. Research funding is awarded for humanities, social sciences, environmental research, and artistic research. We also fund the popularisation of academic research.
Individual scholars can apply for researcher grants, whereas groups of researchers can apply for project funding. There are grants for doctoral students (€2,360 per month), post doctoral researchers (€2,700 per month), and experienced researchers (€3,500 per month). In research projects, co-operation between researchers and journalists can be funded.
Grants for the popularisation of research are awarded for non-fiction writing and translations, for initiatives that make research available to broader audiences, and for developing scholarly journals in Finnish language.
Grants for arts and culture are available for all fields of art.
The thematic funding call 'Description of Uralic languages' will also be open during the application period.
The goal of Kone Foundation is to advance bold initiatives in research and the arts. Kone Foundation looks for countercurrents and is interested in the margins. The foundation also believes in an interdisciplinary approach and encounters across fields of art and research and between research and the arts. We especially encourage you to apply for funding for co-operation between Finnish and Russian researchers and artists.
